Volunteer

Meet our volunteersand volunteer today!  CVOX radio is for you, and by you. It’s about the community. Our mission is to give you and the community a voice – to give you training, to let people know what’s happening where they live, to get people talking about it, to broadcast radio that’s both fun to listen to and to make, and to make people proud to live here. It’s about making our part of the world a better place, and getting local people involved. CVOX is not a commercial radio station and is not about egos or making money.

Without volunteers we would not be able to stay on the air. All of the CVOX teams, from producers to presenters, are volunteers. We’re music nerds, archivists, journalists, sound artists, designers, event planners, techies, activists, and more. CVOX is a place to develop and hone the valuable skills you already have or to develop new and unexpected skills.

No previous experience with audio or broadcasting is needed. CVOX team members will provide all of the necessary training.

CVOX is open to all applicants. Please fill out our volunteer application if you are interested in helping.

There are ways for everyone to get involved with CVOX. We are inclusive, and serving the community is our number one concern. Part of our mandate as a community radio station is to reach out to the community and get people involved at the station. Volunteering at CVOX is a fun opportunity to connect with other people in your area. And you don’t have to have ANY radio or media experience–training is provided!

We’re always looking for volunteers, even if it’s only for a small amount of time per week. Volunteer opportunities are available daytimes and evenings every day of the week. Training session times are flexible. Just send us an email and we’ll do what we can to accommodate your work schedule!

We’re looking for people of all ages and abilities, with diverse skill sets, to contact us and offer what you can to the radio station. Remember, being a volunteer doesn’t have to mean being on-air (although we’re always looking for new voices!).
