The Comox Valley Community Broadcasting Society is a donor-funded and volunteer-based organization enabling public access to broadcasting and dedicated to providing community-based information and music programming representing diverse voices and cultures.
Are you a creative individual who loves listening to talk radio and enjoys working in teams? Join our community radio station as a Talk Coordinator and contribute to shaping engaging content that represents the Comox Valley.
Responsibilities
- Works closely with Programming, Tech and Production teams.
- Crafts the station’s talk/informational programming, such as talk, news, and PSAs.
- Seeks out new programming via community partners and NCRA station programs (!Earshot).
- With Programming, Production and Music teams, develops technical standards and procedures for program creation and packaging.
- Promotes high journalistic standards.
- Shares interview opportunities with show hosts which arrive via talk@cvox.ca or info@cvox.ca.
- Creates and maintains database with local news, information sources, and community groups.
- Stays informed about community events and issues to integrate relevant content into programming.
- Assist in the creation of documentation and training materials to democratize knowledge and help proliferate best practice procedures throughout the organization.
Requirements
- Experience with Audacity editing program an asset.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
